my eyes hurt...my head's kinda pain...and im dammmmmn lethergic...
haven been resting much lately...i noe i need to rest...= but sthings just have to be done or attended to...
so anws...today was a killer...was 99.99999999% dead for most of the day...cos i was having this super irritating headache tat refused to subside lar...den aft sch stayed in class for awhile with peish to do maths..then zammed back to st nicks for sports day!!!
OMG it was damn fun...reliving all the screams cheer atmosphere n of cos our IJ spirit!!! watched the cheer routines...not bad lar...haha...the moves all kinda in tune with the current mtv dance moves...yeaa..screamed like siao lar...with xh n kz...cos they were from red hse...and im from YELLOW!! hahah yellow finally won first lar...
anws we wenta eat orange bowl half way...finally lar...quality chilli paste...damn spicy...shiok man...then we saw lydia...wahhh miss her like mad lar...found out that she's just across the bridge lar...haha..
den aft that wenta j8 for our greenies dinner...bought s booster pack...=) n got loads of artifacts...
feel like slping now..but i cant!! dammit...mi hair is still wet! =

yawnz. i reached home at about 10.30pm. luckily my parents didn't nag. phew. anyway, dinner was fun! =) edward was as usual extremely slow. haha. and it was made more interesting w e presence of our fac heads sittin a few tables away. haha. some people were drooling for a full 20 mins. ;) stare stare stare...lolx.
i'm excited abt tmr. havent had a class outin in ages. =) anw, anyone wanna go kbox on mon? let's have kbox outing! tentatively first. shall ask ard tmr.

finally a slack day..
tho lessons were rather torturous, sitting in e lt for 2h40min is tough i realized.. well.. at least we got jerry chai..
felt so free after school today..after one week of bio test mugging and PI piaing..
played bball wif kep, andrew, edward, leefang and yanyan + spectator peiguan after lunch.. felt so full lah.. but had fun anyway.
then went library to try to do idependent study for bio.. but e books r weird lah.. a bit of info here there.. then went back to class bench, saw kangyee and daniel..
went home shortly after cos was so super hot and sticky in uniform. ended up eating some dinner cos couldn't resist e food on e dining table altho supposed to go our for dinner..
anywayz.. joined e rest (peish, hw,hj, lf, jr, kep, jef, pg, ed and cs) for dinner plus dessert at adam rd. saw SOME fac head which made life at dinner table more interesting for some.. hahaz.. yeah.. had a great day..

fwa lans...
went to turf city in the afternoon 3pm for a friendly with NJC... i finally got to play a full match and it was realli great la.. we won 2-0 with weiheng scoring and creating one for bingyang...
2nd round is starting next thurs with our first match against the champs VJC. All of us are somehow not afraid at all and are raring to take them on in front of their own crowd.. Right now guess all 20 of us are psyching ourselves up for the big day..
if we make it past the first round to semis... i treat whole class drinkss.. the coach and the team wants to play at national stadium for the finals.. we will make a difference to hc soccer..

anw, leefang n i stayed in sch till abt 5.45pm to STUDY. at least we tried to. haha. we succeeded in studyin till abt 4plus, when we came across some yearbooks in e library. haha. they are very interestin to look at. we ended up laughin really loudly at our seniors' pictures. darn. wasted so much time laughin. blehx.

todayss .. hmmms. quite fun ! i would think ... morning started off normal ... after PE, somehow my hand became a exhition site for artists wanna-be to showcase their talent. hahahas. even mr thomas said it was TERRIBLE. then came afternoon , when our beloved mrs tan released us one hour earlier =) a few insensitive issues happened la i dun wanna say, but crys and shuren should know ..
afternoon came and people mug and mug and mug.sigh. i haven really study and im HERE blogging. i really tried to study and even moved to other class bench to study cos some guy and girl were talking kinda loudly beside me. then at 2 LOL me and jeff went to set up our green club store, where some GIRL expressed their gaga over jeffery and kepyong =P. . i went for trg which was basically only spastic abs exercises and pull ups. I FEEL STRONG. lol jk =). after my trg i went back o class bench , saw crys , then went home with crys shuren and andy lim, and in the bus we made a hell out of it at the back.. laughing like gays and lesbians.wwahahhaas

i dunno how im gonna manage my work larhs. esp the bio test that's coming up...
came home early today.. planned to finish my pw PI and bio test revision.. but ended up only completing research for PI and finish filling up the application form for centad. yeap i'm signing up for centad. that is if indecisive me decides to change my mind last minute tmr. but after putting in so much effort in writing my application mayaswell just submit rite. T.T
sigh. hopefully i can manage all the stuff that i want to do...

many of us zammed home early to mug for bio test today. at ard 4 plus, kep, chinswee, michwang, jR and me left sch and headed home to be responsible guai students who will give in our best for the upcoming bio lect test. (: applause plse everyone ;)

just came home from j8. went there with jR,chinswee and crys to check out magic cards. had a pleasant surprise when i saw sarabelle who happens to be jR's ex classmate as well. the only prob being that he totally had no recollection that she was once in his class. hmmm, i guess thats the prob with having a social moon and being too popular ;) ahh, jR ji rocks man! bought a kami champ booster with chinswee. and i love my rare card- the chio (kiku's night flower)! poor chinswee got a red rare card. hmmm, maybe he shud start a new deck soon ... a red one! haha (: magic rocks!
btw i think our class people going for the CIP exco mtg today got high chance coz 7d rocks big time! hah, i even think that darling chinswee the joker has a gd chance ;) hmmm, 7d has come to dominate another exco! although i think we were making quite a big din outside the interview room but watching chinswee go through the interview seriously amuses me (pardon the pun ;) ) and yups, peiguan was funny too, wearing that specs in an attempt to look guai. ;)

burkina faso rox la.. we got into emergency preparedness after sch today awaiting the arrival of the judges...
Thanks to charlene, aileen, chun ting, yan yan, peiguan, shuren for staying to help out till the teacher come..
Everything was ready the flag the banner the sand.(from u noe where), mudhouse candles... left radio.. in the end managed to get from council a nice one... den we listened to some faso music which was quite farni... causing yan yan to launch into a another fit of laughter..
den we heard some cute children sing and some other nice english songs...
teacher arrived and basically juz blurted crap la... den we did a crap short dance when we play the music.. ok it was damn cool

came home from burkina faso banner and flag painting, was painting with crys, chinswee and jeff. (: hah, the class owes us a treat. hope we win and get the marche voucher ;) gee. and of course, hope that jiyong did well in his match today! managed to complete the flag and banner at ard 8 with lots of paint koping and dripping of paint all over the place. pretty pleased with it la, think that its quite chio! (: argh, now i still have some disgusting green paint on myself ... at least its green ;)
chinswee's affinity for art is officially negative. ;) okay maybe we were biased coz he was the only one who was suaned when he screws up but... thats coz he gave us the chance to take a dig at him by screwing up. ;)
went curry wok with chinswee and crys after that for dinner and we were so stone. just sitting there and taking so long to ans the owner what we wanted. haha, almost let him decide everything. ah well.. have been reaching home pretty late these few days.
still have council camp tmr, argh im going to miss class outing this sat. but u all have fun and celebrate for the 3 bday babies- cherylene, zhipeng and shuren. may all your wishes come true!!

i juz got home! die. my parents are ready to kill me. my dad isnt speakin to me. how? can't go out so much anymore. sigh. actually 10pm is a reasonable time! darn. think i shld go do some maths hw to show them i'm hardworkin. went to serene centre for icecream with charl, ed, leefang n huwei. then charl went home, while the rest o us went to taka for dinner at breeks. conclusion is tt breeks is a cheaper n nicer place as compared to nydc. =)

[cos syf on 3rd may yar] i'd be quite non-existant in the class... cos we're having intensive CO pracs and i'd most probably disappear straight after school.. and this week's really really bad aRgggh monday to saturday all CO till at least 7pm [and that's the earliest] except thurs. bleh. meaning. i most prob cant make it for class outing this sat too. =C

hmms after seeing what cheegake wrote, i also feel that time passes really fast. in the blink of an eye it's already april.... and i, as well as many of us, sorely miss the times in the past... everybody bochap homework then on a lot of occasions will stay in school late to talk cock or go out..

whoa the meet-e-parents thing ended so darn late. waited in sch till 9.45pm for my mom. =( luckily got jinrui n gary to pei2 me. think my mom din gain ath frm e session. except tt my name sounds like penguin. darn. mr thomas cant stop harpin on it. i stayed at class bench frm 3 to 7 pm. goodness, i wld have gone home if i had known tt the parents day thingy was goin to be so redundant.
anw we had dinner at thai noodle house. the food was not bad. =) mich was super high abt her body lang. competition. hey pple, pls go support her on may 13, friday, 4.30pm at auditorium. haha. helpin her publicize. =)

managed to zam home early today. went serene with crys, chinswee and jR. chinswee that rich ass bought another BoK (wahhaa) booster n den went macs to buy lunch. after that went back sch coz chinswee and crys got cca. den lazed ard in sch before taking bus back with jR and reached home at 3.30pm which is really a feat coz ive been reaching home after 8 almost everyday and eating dinner outside. im so guai today (:

amidst all the rush n madness of completing homework n tutorials...there's alws something called going out to study...lollllls...its qte productive really....cos no distraction from the com -so totally true that's y im here now =X- and nagging from you-noe-who and whatnots...
OR SO I THOT...was supp to go to peish's hse to help her with her council stuffs but it was gna be pretty late so i decided to not piss mi parents off for one day...so in e end met up with chinswee to go n study...ended up in kfc...wahaha...and so it was peaceful n quiet at first...
but then damn the hell of them...there were some totally bratty kids screaming their lungs away as if they had too many alveoli n wanted to burst the excess off [and NO chinswee they are NOT of MY RACE -glares-]...that wasnt all..there were these three s4 gals beside our table who just cldnt conc on studying...cos they were talking so much n kept leaving their table to BUY FOOD...haix...
n on the other side of the table was anth grp of gals...faints...who were also chit chatting their time away...n this gal was talking so much abt e teachers in her sch n TAF club...and so i was thinking...'if u wna get outta it why the hell are u eating at KFC huh!?' oh wells...nvm her...
but aiya despite all these i still managed to get some work done lar...then hadda go home for dinner...and um...to see mi bro for a few more mins b4 he goes back to the lil resort off shore spore...p.tekong... i shall JUST bask in my dream of going to ns lar...snds mad but i think its fun...
and im pretty amazed with what they do... like how they arrange to furninture in the bunks such that u cant see ur buddy's bed...cos of the complaints that some ppl made abt seeing our non-humanly frens by the bedsides of the guy beside...but then again WHAT'S THE USE?!?! heh...if u can see then...YOU CAN SEE...wahaha...and oh the new editions of ghost stories...thnks to my bro of cos... tho i haf yet to hear them first hand lar... more fun...so i shall wait till next time...and i think mi sis was suay enuf a few days back to kana too....oh wells...

Yo, what a dynamic response. Bombardingly powerful. Ok lah, the allusion to a sets is quite convincing.
However, i disagree as to why George Orwell's dystopian world of 1984 failed to materialise. I don't think it's bec of the resistance towards homogenisation but rather:
1. the technological limitation and
2. the party, w/c is itself "unhomogenised" with the rest.
Btw, I think his story is just a thot experiment, and not a prophesy.

well.. yinchu ill ans several concerns u have over my article, which u had very "aptly" and creatively named of cliques and cliches =D
ok...
As society is ever-changing, every second we live is now vastly different from what had happened in the past, can we have a definitive set of rules to govern the dynamics of human and social nature? The answer is no. Just as a function whos domain is ever expanding we cannot have a range that remains constant and unchanged can we? Similarly, we cant map a universe... because it is ever expanding.
So we need to ESTABLISH something very important before we study or debate about humanities topics..so that we do not end up commting mistakes that many do, i.e they start arguing over polar opinions.
1) that the very vast expanse of the topoology itself requires constant overhauling of laws to adapt to the changing environment
2) that definitions in the dictionary stand if it is used in context... or in the same situation as the writer(in other words, me =D)
3) that from (1), we can infer that gray areas exist, accept their existence and work towards changing the above-mentioned rules to classify them. In certain cases, like the sticky issue of internet piracy, it proves to be a pretty demanding task indeed...

So, from above, i still say that while the definite meaning of a clique might mean an exclusive unit, in it u are also somewhat implying that each person can only belong to a single "clique".
I might take the liberty to change the argument to how a non-exclusive clique is possible then. (Caution: from here onwards i may descend into ranting and unbased claims. These works are purely my work and i have no legal right to defend Asc.Prof. statements...)
Anyway, an intersection of subsets inside a universal set would be a good illustration of non-exclusive groups imho. An exclusive clique marginalises 1 or more elements from the universal set. Even though the whole unit does not completely exclude themselves from the universal set, all it needs is 1 element to do so for it to become an exclusive unit.
This is because social distance is relative. When 1 element is marginalised, or distances itself from the whole community, the community has in fact distanced itself from the element. The gradual distancing of 1 element from the collective entity usually results in the closing of distance to another entity. Wich is why pple usually tink that cliques can only be exclusive, because it is so darned difficult to have and maintain non-exclusive cliques.
Finally we ask ourselves why has George Orwell's dystopian world of 1984 failed to materialise. The world has consistently resisted attempts by several parties at homogenisation and unification.
Unification at such a grand scale is seemingly impossible, but in a small, cmpact community of 26 members in 05s7d, or a slightly larger community of 52 members in S7d, it is definitely an attainable task. I dunno why im saying all this, or mebe its just me becoming more eccentric as my bday draws near...that the thought of losing even one of u here due to callous marginalisation or voluntary exclusion is saddening..

Dear friends,
3 months have come and passed us in the blink of an eye. Ok, we passed numerous trials of fire with everyone mostly intact.. or burned a little.. Regardless of what our O'level results scored, its inconsequential now. With the our JC posting results announced, this 3 month TRANSITIONAL PERIOD can be said to have concluded. Whether it was successful i tink we can draw our own conclusions lar. Those that continue to be a part of 05s7D,(not 7D-a, 7D-b,7D-c) are so because they willingly chose to remain. Those that have left (willingly or reluctantly), too will remain as part of a community that belongs to us.
So what's the main driving force, the main ingredients of cohesion that has binded our class as such?
I'd just read an interesting book about group dynamics, and tot some aspects of our class dynamics can be represented quite clearly by several ideas presented by this author.
Every programme, every workshop, activity, that is designed to produce social good will have its repurcussions, In sociology this can be stated as the Law of unintended consequences. In a group of highly cohesive and united individuals, what had be done and maintained successfuly is the reducing the possible occurances of such possible negative impacts to class unity; or by the renewances of old bonds.
Students in a peer group experience a great deal of communication, both non-verbal and verbal. ALthough this communication may help develop familarity and resolve boundaries, it can similarly create misunderstandings and divides. a trend coined "groupthink", exemplified by how effective a student communication network can influence how, E.G. their attitudes to a certain lecturer or student.
A community is characterised by the types of bonds, common similarities and differences, experiences and interests. Therefore, it seems inevitable that cliques or factions would form in a social unit.
In one of my previous posts i had talked briefly about how cliques are formed due to a natural predisposition of one individual to a certain group of others. I tink i should elaborate abit further. U see, A J1 class initially is a community of strangers. IF nothing is done to evenly mix the contents, the end result we prolly will get is layerification, or settling (we've all seen precipitates settling happening in chem pracs b4=D). By this crude illustration, it can be seen that social stratification occurs when one group put in less energy into the homogenisation process. Similarly, cliques dun exist singularly; for every faction there is, consequentially, another is created.
The formation of non-exclusive cliques however, is not all bad. Whether a social unit is "exclusive" depends more on the pple outside the unit than those inside, i.e. it is the pple that are not in a clique that determines whether that particular clique is exclusive or not. A non-exclusive clique brings about several advantages, e.g. developing interpersonal skills at an advanced level, cultivating group balancing skills etc..
Therefore, I feel that establishing interpersonal rapport at its most basic level is necessarry. IF the only effective mode of communication is from teacher to student, learning would not be optimised. However, if someting is done to reduce social distances and create a casual laerning environment, we will not only get to know each other better, but benefit more from the strengths and weaknesses of one another.
I hope we can take another step and further integrate ourselves into this community we call 05s7D. =D

wah seh im so tired!!! having a headache =...pt was chao fun...cos xinhui kezia n i did with the sec threes...was qte easy lar...sprint 100m den do 10pushups n situps...den supp to run 7 rds lar but they did it so dammit slowly that in e end onli 3rds....so pok lar...but nvm lar at least we enjoyed ourselves....hahah did stdrd pushups...haha =D
aft np zam back to yishun to photocopy the booklet for tml...den i realised that actually the shop had deck protectors!!! hahahahahahahaha....$6.50 somemore...usu is nine bucks...so wth i decided to just spend mi remaining money since i stinged on dinner n onli drank ice lemon tea... den i was toking to the friendly/trusted uncle n he said he USED TO SELL MAGIC...but NO ONE PLAYED so he stopped n sold other stuffs instead....haix...
