congrats to all who played soccer for FOS.. u guys and gals did great! and thanks to all who stayed back so late.. sit and bake in e sun together.. so heart-warming.. haha.. Hope all e others who played the other sports had fun too!

After 2 hours of agonising thru the film, I jus had the urge to prolong it by broooding over the last 10 mins thru last nite...

*SPOILERS* dun read if u intend to watch it =D dun worry, the regret is onli temporary, not everlasting...

"I know many Qiyaos, but the only one Qiyao whom i really want to have her photo taken is this one..."

The narrator maintains himself as an neutral 3rd party observer throughout the life story of Qiyao, seemingly mapping her life objectively. Yet as the film draws to a close, I cant help but think again about the purpose of having a photographer (aka Cheng)play the role of the narrator.

Is he, a professional adept at picture-taking, merely an instrument which captures and keeps the images of her life, or is he someone we should pity and lament? Could it be that he represents the hand of fate, wielding the power in his hands to radically altering her life, but in the end, lacing conviction, choosing to use his hands to operate the camera, and leaving her to her sad, but predictable end?

"I am willing to lay my everyting, even my life for the sake of love."
"My wife believes love should be distributed among many people, and not just focused onto an entity."

Concept of love and sacrifice, a theme explored by movies to death. When was the last time we felt sorry for the hero who had to lose his swwetheart to save the world? Theres no protagonist in this tale, which makes Qiyao's death and the cause of it ever more poignant.

Everlasting Regret depicts a pseudo-real world, but still manages to impose life's bitter irony onto me, not only due to the fact tat im actually tinking so deeply about the whole show even though its supposed to be a flop. The fact that she was willing to die for her love, but ended up dying for the one tat died her most injustice, is a predictable, and effective way of getting tis across to me....

" The city of Shanghai goes on relentlessly, almost too eager to put the sad story of Qiyao behind in her wake"

We are in no place to determine what love is worth, for we simply dont have the ability to measure it.

Let love decide who is worth love's favour,
Let the thread of life go on.
Let the masterful hands of fate weave these threads in and out.
